Owen Sound Glassworks Development Co-operative Inc (aka Glassworks) is a co-operative working to develop a pedestrian-centric neighbourhood of approximately 350-500 high-quality, financially accessible units in Owen Sound. Our mission is to design and build a community for housing, working, and recreation. Our project is designed, not for profit, but for living within our means, and our planet's capacity.
We are part of a much bigger movement. Glassworks has been inspired by the cooperative housing movement based on the belief that living collaboratively not only brings people together but increases individual and community wellbeing, while offering chances to be more intentional about our resource use.

We have partnered with Home Opportunities Non-profit - who will advise the Glasswork’s Board and coordinate key aspects on its behalf based upon the defined principles and outcomes and services of the contract relating to planning, financing, design, marketing and sales. The goal is to have future residents living in Glassworks Village by or before 2028. More details to come as our pre-development work proceeds.

Glassworks acknowledges with deep gratitude the territory of the Anishnaabek Nation: the People of the Three Fires known as Ojibwe, Odawa, and Pottawatomie Nations. We further give thanks to the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, now known as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, as the traditional keepers of this 46 acres of land.
